Is the EOS-X worth the extra money? What are the benefits of it over the EOS? Or is there a different alarm that is better than either, in the same sort of price range (up to £70).

Depends what you want from your alarms mate

I've had quite a few through the years, I had the old style Delkims for years and when they packed up I was in a dilemma for what to have next. Not wanting to pay the prices for new Delkim I went for Fox MMXR and from the off didn't like them  I have now had Gardener TLB and highly recomend them  No volume/tone controls they do exactly what they say on the tin. Make a noise when a fish picks your bait up...........and at around 55 quid not a bad price
