U.C.N. will be launching 2 new baits in 2008.THE MOONSPICE has kicked serious butt both here and overseas, the Spanish boys cant get enuf of it,it has an aroma similar to christmas cake and the carp love the stuff. This will be available in the spring.

K.F.C (kicking funky chicken) will be launched in the summer,a blend of fishmeals, poultry meals and milk proteins, black pepper, plus 3 unique complimentary spices give this one an awesome attractor profile, added to this is a highly alkaline low level squid flavour. It really is an outstanding bait,GET THIS ONE BEFORE EVERYONE ELSE DOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm surprised at this....flavours, funky names...you gonna do a 50/50 mix?

how can they be better than the enzyme?

Oooooh, jesus,i didnt know you lot were so bothered? Things have to progress,a tougher bait was needed because of the limitations of the ENZYME.I have found that by adding a couple of effective spices,i can slow down the ENZYME ACTIVITY within the bait, thus keeping it usable for longer periods  thus enabling the angler to use it as you would a conventional boilie. The K.F.C is a long way off its launch and is a newish concept within the commercial bait world, rest assured that both baits will be exstensively tested and re-evaluated before release.

And no,in 18 months of being in buisness and over 25years of knowledge in the bait making game, testing for the past 5 years,i really dont think that constitutes to bringing out a new bait every couple of months do you???????????    boohoo  boohoo  boohoo

Having used the enzyme both summer and winter i wanted to try and winterise it so as to be as effective as in the summer. Now,as luck would have it,i stumbled onto a blend of spices that somehow slowed the rate of enzyme activity down? Now,i will ask this, should i therefore call it SICEZYME OR MOONSPICE,or should i just name it "winterised Enzyme"

We did not intend bringing out any other baits, but i have been asked for so many things that i thought, hey, wot the heck lets give them what they want!

Mistake? Not sure, but i will gladly listen to any positive suggestions you have to offer,Mr Hubber,Rob,i understand where your coming from,i can only say that we pride ourselves on the fact that we produce the 2 best commercial baits out there and anything we do bring out has to be as good! Please feel free to air your views and i will take them onboard,Its hard work trying to make a bait company successfull on your own so i would appreciate your views on this one fellas

                                     Regards,Dean,U.C.N

Life was simple before, there was the Enzyme and the Moonfruit    both awesome bait that I've caught well on including a couple of PB's
Thanks Dean  8)
I've also been testing the Spicy version of the Enzyme and as to be expected it's s*it hot and caught from the word go.
Now I'm confused as they all do the biz and I don't know which I like the best    LOL  LOL Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

But as they say variety is the spice of life ! and I don't know anyone involved with bait that can resist the urge to try something different in search of the ultimate bait !

Cheers
Saul

It sounds an interesting concept Mr Moo, 8)  do you think that the spices themselves will play an additional role in the bait apart from “slowing the rate of enzyme activity”
I have messed about with spices in my own baits and found them to be a good addition in themselves  8)
You have almost convinced me to part with my dosh if it wasn’t for the fact I’m trying to learn/do a bit for myself these days LOL
Good luck with the new additions

The spices used and especially the combination which i use plays a major factor in the baits effectiveness, apart from what it has done to the enzyme activity the combo ive used is identical to that of the MOONFRUIT plus one other and when you smell the bait, you just want to eat it

smells like christmas cake!!!!!!!!! YUMMY

Neil, you dont seem to post that much,so i guess you read and digest and then reply,am i correct?

If so,can i ask your opinion on bringing out the "SPICEZYME" cos your last post left me a little puzzled

Your first post was a little sarcastic,or tongue in cheek?

Seeing as you are a "man in the know",your views on this matter would be most welcome

Hi Dean, I'm guessing the spice combination has altered the ph, which is what slows down the enzyme activity? I am surprised this is needed as would the cooler winter temperaters alone slow the enzyme activity?

Another thought, when slowing the enzyme activity are you not making the bait slightly less effective/attractive than the original Enzyme bait? In winter I would take the baits out of the freezer the day before going fishing just to get the enzymes at that slightly more advanced state of breakdown.

I will say that you are correct in your assumption of the ph change altering the rate of enzyme activity and you are also correct in that cooler water temperatures also affect their activity,But, we use different enzymes in the colder months, those that perform more efficiently in cold water,we do reccomend leaving the baits for a few days before use generally, but whatever is happening inside those baits, they just dont go as soft as the original mix, having said that, with no detrimental or decrease in catch rate and also a bait the has less limits to its use because of its firmer texture

                                Regards,Dean U.C.N
