Another day session today saw me arriving at the lake at sunrise, had a quick wander round and spooked 2 fish right in the margins plus saw a couple moving around some pads that have virtually died so set up near these. 1 rod placed down the margin, 1 rod cast right into the pads and before I had time to get the 3rd rod out rod no.2 was off cripes!

I think it took a few seconds for it to register that I was into a fish so quick, but was soon doing battle with something that wasn't too happy on the other end. The scrap resulted in this on the mat, coming in at 16lb 10oz

Caught on CH Tuna

Recast the rods and confidence was brimming but it wasn't to be and although a few more fish were seen cruising etc none were interested in my bait

Can't grumble though

Another session today saw me pulling into the car park about 7.30am. Barrow loaded and I'm off across the field. The field was absolutley saturated and made pushing the barrow hard work (Shut it Chad before you start

) I decided upon one of the drier swims but I'd only set up and got the brolly up and had created a nice muddy mess

By the end of the day everything that had come out the rucksack etc had a splattering of mud

On the fishing front I had this lovely common weighing in at 14lb 14oz, it really didn't want to be photographed

After about the 4th attempt I managed 1 decent shot cripes!

Recast and the wind had now picked up so I took refUge under the brolly, at times I was holding onto it thinking it was going to be going skywards cripes!

About 1.30 I get a 1 toner and am on the rod like a whippet LOL

This time the culprit is mirror, weighing in at 12lb 4oz. The picture doesn't do it's colours and condition and favours. It was in top class condition (as was the common) and a pleasure to see it on the bank

That fish will be a stunner when it makes 30 and had some sun on it.
