Yateley North Lake

Has anyone fished there since it has reopened?
What did you think of it?
Did you catch?
Markerfloat

Steve im fishing there in a couple of weeks time, will let you know mate
Steve Howard

Ya know what, I might just join you there Matt LOL
Markerfloat

by all means mate, be good to ram it home about how Chelski lost the league lol LOL
BenMay

I have been there once since it has re-opened and once just before.
Just before i went it looked pretty bare from all the tree cutting they had done and snag removing etc. But at the end of June i went back again and i have never seen a more picturesque lake... imo
I didn't catch either but my mate had a 25lber lol
alan

im on it next weekend for the stoney do. so i will report on any fish caught

Likewise, I hope a few fish will be in Alans net as well... Better give him some of my bait.

Hoping to catch a 30, havn't had one for ages. :)

Theres some great carp in there, including a very special carp that seemed to get in there somehow cuckoo!

I'll pop up on one of the evenings your there to see you Matt, make sure you take your kettle. I'll also do a bit of pre baiting for you
Markerfloat

Muchas Gracias Jim :)
jamien

fished it at the beginning of june and IMo it's the best UK day ticket water I have fished - have done sandy, orchid etc but it knocks the spots off of them.

picturesque, quiet, loads of wildlife and loads of lovely fish.

looking forward to going back soon!
andydan

Absolutely fantastic venue.
Cannot wait to go back there
Markerfloat

Cemex have also changed the rules
It was fishable on a day ticket from midday to midday
Now its from whatever time you like

Power to the people
jamien

really?

to be honest it was the only thing that was putting me off from going over there.
Markerfloat

Yup
Contact Yateley Angling for ticket info mate
NorfolkBob

am i alone in not wanting to fish it?
Cam

I dont think you are Bob.
Can I ask if you fished it when it was a syndicate water?

The reason I ask is that I can understand former syndicate members greviences with the
water being turned into a day ticket.

On the flip side, this is the only chance the majority of carpers in this country will of had, or have,
the chance of fishing such a historic water.

Can I ask also, why you are not wanting to fish it?

Markerfloat

I fished it from Sunday evening till Tuesday evening.
Plonked myself down in Bazils swim just for the history of it, as was said before. Its an awesome lake and the recent pictures of it drained down are amazing.
Having said that, i believe the cost will keep a lot of people away, £25 for 24 hours.
I can honestly say i wouldnt rush to go there again, there are other waters i prefer, although i am planning another trip there soon when a certain head baliffs leg will allow him to barrow his gear round the lake lol
SteveSir

I did a few nights on there a couple of months ago and although I only caught a 10lb stockie, the atmosphere is immense. You can just feel the history as you walk round the place, a pleasure to be there. I will be definately going back.
Steve Howard

Bloody hell Stevie, it took you a while to make your first post on here, didn't it fella! LOL LOL

Welcome to the crazy farm m8
jamien

the history etc doesn;t bother me. I had mates that fished it when basil was in there and they loved it cos it was a truely amazing lake with a truely amazing fish in it.

bazil died and now it is a truly amazing lake. history or not (I couldn't sense it or anything when i was there) - I just love the place as a venue - quiet, picturesque, varied (islands, open water etc) and some nice fish in there...

whatever cemex did to it, they would have been slaughtered by someone for not doing the right thing... and most of them would never have fished there before and have no intention of heading over there now
carpmanjay

this one water id love to have a crack at!!

i also hear there are some originals still in there??

seeing as you book tickets in advnced  swim finding shouldnt be to bad either. mmm i feel a social coming on!!
Markerfloat

all over xmas and the new year there were no more than 3 people on
