What to do?

Hello you lot,its been a while,i have been racking my brains trying to decide what to do for the best so i thought i would put it out in the open and air my thoughts and concerns about a new approach to this stop start bait company of ours,

I am dubious about re-starting again purely because of fulltime work commitments and the toll it puts on myself both physically, mentally and financially, but was considering just going with one bait.A combination of moonfruit and the enzyme, which would offer the best of both worlds!I have not spoke to Pete about this and im sure he will have his say on the matter but would really like peoples opinion as to its viability,so please feel free to air your welcome opinions good or bad!

                                         Regards,Moo
Big Ron

Hi mate ........from what I can see you have put a lot of time and effort in to your bait company       and its never going to be easy to compet with the big boys in the fishing world as they have it prity well to them selfs.
but there are a lot of smaller company out there and as long as they have a loyal costomer base they will keep ticking over.

I think you have to weigh up what you want in life and how much effort you want to put in to it, as trying to follow your dreams ( will come at a cost )

I think advise from otheres will not realy solve your problem     as its only you who will know what price you are prepared to pay

could you just sell the basemix etc ready to roll, save you a lot of work, but dont know how dogey it is with enzymes etc, would be a way of doing it and reducing work load...

just get some poles in to roll it lol, cheap labour:D

Hi Dean
I hope you are in better health these days

I don’t know if going down the one bait road will work as Mr Baitcraft is now finding out.. unsure

Big Ron's words seem to sum it up well..  only you will know…

Regards
scotcarp

only bought 5 kg from yourself just as i found out you were going to stop making the baits boohoo  and the results that i had from the 5kg that i bought were probably the best i have had on any bait so i would be well chuffed if you were going to start up again dean as i am struggling as to what bait to go with this year but only you and pete can make that decision bud,is there no one that you can get to roll the baits for you, would take the pressure away from you a bit, anyhow what ever you decide all the best and a happy new year pal
billy the fish

single bait

only pete and yourself can answer that problem, i thought all was going really well combining both buisnesses. what a tragic loss it would be to us all if you decided it was to much of a workload to make your excellent bait. if you only produced one bait, and i am sure with your combined bait knowledge that it would be stunning. i have been out of touch with the carp scene this year due to personal problems, and re-forming the rock band, so i hope you can keep keep going as i will be back this spring, and i certainly dont want to use a hyped up overpriced major bait bait company, i prefer the real thing. all the best moo, jimmy.
billy the fish

cuckoo! nearly forgot dean, happy new year to pete and yourself.
Carper_Adam

First lot of enzymes are deactivated when the bait it boiled...the second lot start working afterwards i think

we dont want anymore people coming into the country rich, most people are screwed enough as it is right now !

hi dean.hope you are well mate. if you are up to it,why not stick with the one bait and size for now as i know a lot of people use or would like to use your bait .see how things go .maybe employ some one who you and pete trust to roll lthe bait for you.hope you make a full recovery and that things sort themselves out for the best.good luck in the future what ever you decide to do.tight lines.steve

Hi Dean,

I think it's right in saying it's what you thinks best for yourself for you to decide whether you want to carry on with this really, i can't see how us giving out our opinions can change anything in what your heart really wants to do.. I brought 50kg off you around may time to use on one of my syndicate waters and i can honestly say its been the best season so far for me on there since using the bait for the 1st time..i've had a couple of the low 30 plus commons that recide in the lake which i've been after for a couple of years along with most of the upper 20's and i had most of these fish by mid september so at least i knew i was using a bait they really enjoyed eating..if you and pete do carry on making baits even if it's only one mix you decide to carry on with i will certainly be buying more off you.
robvford

i think alot of people have summed it up pretty well already.

i also agree i hate paying for the overpriced rubbish they sell on the shelves!

you dont get the excellent service from the bigger companies as you do with the smaller privately owned ones and thats a big factor for alot of people. being able to actually talk to the matey that makes there bait.
billy the fish

could a moonzyme be on the way dean??? happy new year.
PeteB

Hi Mate, as you know I have a very time consuming job... and I have literally no time to devote to a bait company other than ideas and recipes, you have the best bait available to anyone at this moment in time, it will beat anything if fished side by side, you know, you have seen it in action...
It will work, it will take time though... in today's economic climate everyone is suffering, even the big boys, the product is everything, you have achieved far more than we expected at the start, don't let it go, get A.N Other involved and continue.. Give me a call.......
billy the fish

great encouraging words pete, lets hope moo gets it sorted, by using someone who wants work, and whoom he can trust

Hi Tone and happy new to ya buddy

kind regards Jeff

A decision has been made that we are on the lookout for a reputable company that can exclusively roll and sell our baits. They will be the only distributors of these throughout the uk and europe,so if you know of anyone that may fit the bill or is interested then please let me know.We need a tomake this work as we believe our baits have enormous potential, thanks,Dean

Hi Dean

No surrender mate
Back just in time as I'm starting to panic due to the almost empty bottle of Ultimate "e"  cripes!

Cheers

Hi Dean

Would probably have to be a company that is fairly successful, as a small company probably wouldnt want to sell a bait that is better than theirs ! ?

I really hope you make this work as im gagging to get my hands on some more enzyme !

Thanks jeff and all the best to you for 2009 mate...

Great news Dean...hope everything works out for you.
Mrmoo

Just thought i would update you on how things are progreessing. We have found a company that is willing to roll our baits,we are just  afew trial mixes away from cmpleting this part, also our website will have a news page which we aim to keep updated with catch reports, reviews and new product news including our base mix plus addits range for those D.I.Y bait rollers out there,so,lets hope this year we can get a more efficient companyand work toward better things? Thanks,Dean
blondie

thats good news dean .would like to try the base mix.does it have the enzymes added?whats it like to roll.glad things are sorted.best of luck .steve
Mrmoo

Just the moonfruit and the moonspice at the mo mate, although we are toying with the enzyme base as well?
blondie

ok dean.hope everything goes well.i know im looking forward to try it as are many others .glad to see u.c.n on the up again.cheers.steve
Carper_Adam

How will this affect the price from the £6.50/ kilo you were selling direct on the site last year ?
maple

try Destiny baits dean , there in kent  and have a good reputation for rolling baits plus not cutting the mix , which some do
billy the fish

hope it works out dean, moonspice will do for me, hope the cost stays the same. will we still be able to pay direct into the account as before? ( makes it so easy)
Mrmoo

We need to discuss pricing and payment methods,as you can imagine, paying for a company to roll will cut profits dramatically and with the ever increasing increase in all of the meals plus the hike in egg prices, its gonna be interesting to work the figutes out, then again with buying in bulk as we are now able to do,it just may make it viable Adam, with regards to payment,im sure we can work something out on that score chaps!
mungo

you get what you pay for imo and seeing as your bait is the best out there im sure the price for most wont be a problem not if they really wanna catch some fish ,
NOSEY WIFE

Good luck dean xx
