what a weekjust got back from a week over in france, lac unique. the lake isnt easiest lake in the world, and wasnt fishing well when we got there. but that was soon to change.
day one.
we arrive and quickly go about setting up our gear, once that was done, a kilo of bait was spread about on the spots that i fancied and we quickly went to the local supermarket. once we were back, the rods come out and went straight onto the spots. no more than an hour passed and my middle rod was away. after a long hard fight. 34lb, first fish on the bank.
after a few snaps we got her back and i went about getting the rod back out. another hour passed and i was away with the same rod. another 30 bang on.
then as i was sorting that rod out, my left rod was away. after a slow long fight, i had a 37lber on the bank. over the moon, the biggest fish i have ever caught.
that was all for day one, and for my first visit to the lake, the owner and bailiffs were very impressed with my start.
day 2.
day 2 got under way at 9.30 am with a one toner wakin me from the land of nodd. another fish on the bank at 26lb. a french football.
that was all for day 2 as it seem to go dead due to a weather change.
day three was dead aswell with only one fish coming out to my mate.
day 4.
day 4 started off very slow aswell. after 2 hours of no bites i decided to bring my rods in for the day, kind of let the swim rest for a bit. after trickling bait in all day, at 6 o'clock i just couldnt wait any longer, the snags had come to life again so i had to get my rods out. after about an hour of constant liners, i recieved a very slow take, the fish went into the snags, but i got it out again and after that she just plodded around under the tip for 5 mins.
47lb. over the moon to say the least.
and my mate had 37 on the bank at the same time just one swim down.
after having a quick shower, and going to bed, i lept very well. missed 2 runs in the night but my mates had it up big time. my mate steve had a 40lber, my mate glen had a 30, 37 and a 38 and my other mate dave had a 20 and a 30 aswell.
day 5.
dya 5 started at 9 o'clock, middle rod away and yet another 30 was on the bank.
then another take. 28lb. and then another at 28. (didnt get pictures on my camera of one of them.)
day 6.
after a slow day again ,i didnt really think i was going to have a fish this day, but at 11pm my middle rod burst into life. 28lb again. two tone mirror.
last day
the week had flew by and i cant beleive only one day left. i didnt effect my fishing though, i had the biggest common of the week at 24lb.
and i had a 27lb mirror aswell in the morning
so in all we had a fantastic week.
altogether i had 11 fish.
but between everyone we managed to smash the total weight amount and the total fish amount records which were held by the owner.
32 fish to 47lb.
4x40's
15x30's
and 13x20's
all this was topped off by superb facilities and a great bailiff.
