Just come back from a weeks fishing the Orellana in Spain!! Was totaly blown away by the place!! the size of the lakes and the beutifull landscapes!! There are actually about 6 different lakes out there and we managed to fish 2 of them.

Has anyone else fished out there and did you enjoy it as much as I did!!

The place has done some very big fish!! While we were there someone caught a 77lb common!! which I think could possibly only scraping the surface!! Due to the size of the Lakes!!

You are right Dan, it's an incredible place that mere photos can't do justice... it has won my heart, no doubt.

With the amazing potential of the place, it's certainly a carpers paradise, but beyond the fishing, it's such a fantastic area with amazing diversity. It's very different to our own landscape, teaming with wildlife that is a pure pleasure to see.

I'll try to list just some of the birds that we saw on our last trip!
Birds of Prey:
Egyptian vultures
Golden Eagles
Harris Hawks
Black Kites
Fish Eagles
Egyptian Eagles
Hobby Hawks
Merlin

Waterbirds:
Spoonbill
Avocet
Dunlin
Snipe
Cranes
Storks
Heron
Blue Heron
Egrets
Ibis

Field & Hedgerow Birds:
Hoopoe
Blue Magpies

and a whole host of unidentified birds

There are also things such as Lynx, wild boar, otter, and large european turtles to be seen, so it is without doubt a wilderness that is very special indeed!

JUST GOT BACK FROM THE LAKE AND SEEN ANOTHER 24K AND 21K COME OUT THE ORELANA WHAT NEXT. HOW LONG HAVE WE GOT TO KEEP TELLING ALL IT IS A JEWEL HERE AND NO PAY LAKE HOLE IN THE GROUND.
