If it's going to comprise of all English players, it should be under an ENGLISH Manager imo
And if it's the U21's it should definitely be under Stuart Pearce

I have to be totally honest here, and say is it just me, or do you also think that having 'olympic football' is a bit of a joke?
I mean, the whole ideology of the Olympic Games is put to the sword with a football championship because many of the best footballing nations don't take part - mainly because their infrastructure doesn't make it viable, because the huge majority of their footballers are 'professionals', and whereas some competing nations include these professional players, others don't, won't or can't.

I have no problem with Olympic football Steve but it should be amateurs only simple as that
Bit like the tennis

Rooney!!!

Yeah totally agree Mac...
Amir Khan wouldn't be able to fight there now he's professional... So what's the difference...???
I reckon it would be more exciting if it was amateurs and might even be a good tool for selecting likely lads for the professional side of things...!!!

That's what I mean... If we don't put in professional players, who the heck DO we select? and if we do pick em, whats the point?
It's not like they would be our best footballers, is it... and that being the case, its pretty meaningless. Surely, if competing in the Olympics and winning gold is to have any real kudos, it should be seeking to find the top sports-people.
Another thing is, if its going to be an under-23 comp, then thats what it should be... why on earth allow overage players?
The whole thing is a joke to my mind, and I'd rather we didn't take part tbh.
