the bubbles do

hardly any fishing was done but here goes

a member of another forum was killed a few years ago and every year a memorial weekend is held in his honour. all proceeds go to "stonney and friends.

jim, jamie and i arrived at yateley at 8.30 and met up with a few of the lads at the cafe. having filled our bellies we set off for the lake.

it was bitter cold. we set up, well almost. the bivs were put up and then all of a sudden it was beer oclock.
due to the cold we didnt see many of the other anglers and the day went by unaventfull. we ordered a few curries (£110 worth) cripes! which was duly delivered to the lake scoffed and we retired to the warmth of the sleeping bags. (not all in the same bag before you lot start.
the temprature droped to a cold -5 in my bivvy.
i woke at 6.30 and decided to drink the drink i had by my bed only to nearly knock my teath out as it had frozen solid.

after a coffee and a visit to the "weight loss cubical" the rods were put out again.
gammon steaks, sausages, mushrooms, black pudding and tommatoes were prepaired for breakfast.

at about 2.30 some of the lads came round to see us and we all endulged in a JD and coke (just to keep the cold out) lol

3.30 oops need to open the next bottle of JD.
more people were turning up bringing more booze and the social was in full swing.
at about 7pm everyone was in our swim.

unfortunatly jim was feeling a little worse for ware

we had to put him to bed at about 7.30. ahh bless

the social continued for another hour before dell boy shot off to the pizza shop. he returned with his car boot filled to the brim with pizza and garlic bread.

once the pizza was scoffed the question was where to put the boxes? of course "jims bivvy" and the cans whilst we are at it. lol and we had best build a fence accross his bivvy door to keep the wind out.

then the fun began Mwraahaha
jims rods were realed in and rebaited with a mushroom on one rod and a pop up carling can on the other. his landing net was placed 12 foot up a tree.

whilst all this was going on gman decided to play with my rods unfortunatly he lost his footing and fell in face first. lol thatll teach him.

at about 11:30 all had gone back to there own swims.
i heard jim strugling to get out of his biv at 3pm
on appearing from his biv he shouted abuse across the lake and set about sorting his rods out. poor bloke got two rods out and then chucked up.

we filled 5 blackbags with empty alchahol containers and pizza boxes.
then it was pack up and down to the carpark for the raffle.

some fantastic prizes as usual and £1000+ was raised for macmillan
