Get a credit card!!!! lol they want a lot for a day ticket saying that they do have a few nice fish bait boats score well over there not that you would ever catch me using one Nash baits seen a few on the bank island is a good starting point if you have enough of going for the carp the pike are worth a go it's the only reason i fish there in the winter!!!
Good luck mate.....with the crowds!!! even mid week!!!! and summer holidays!!!

cheers, cant see the island on my swim map, had the flagpole in mind as one choice, but location is always key in my mind, are the kids a prob of a night in summer hols? i would have thought a high profile water like that wouldnt allow school kids on of a night time without adults????? only doin nights after work. Mainline baits any good on there? how about pop-ups?

It's not such an island but an large extended bank that people call the island! it's directly over from the flag pole and as you said what would be concidered a hot swim! it's just busy down there all the time!!! even in the middle of winter!! best thing mate is down and have a dangle you will sus it ; )

I have a swim map with some pretty sensible rules and nothing unreasonable, pretty normal stuff really, nothing about any bait bans though, but i remember the only time i fished there there was no particles unless you bought them on site.
