Onions' trip to the WCM final!!!After all the waiting from the qualifier it was eventually time to set off for Celtic. an hour and a quarter later we arrived and set the bivvy up and made our way to the registration where we had registered 11th. Our Sticky baits gear was there waiting and we then met up with Kev, rich and a few of the others who work there. after a burger and a drink we were presented with our trophies for qualifying and then the rest of the night was a right old crack. as midnight approached we decided to call it a day so we would be ready for the following morning.
We drew our peg and made our way over and set up and got everything 'sorted' feeling resonably confident even though we werent given much water at all compared most people. but we had no choice but to try our best. we chucked out or most preductive rigs and sticks and bait from the practice sessions but no action at all. by the following morning we still had know action with only 3 fish landed out of 13 pegs on our side of the lake. We kept trying various tactics until the unfamiliar beebing sound was heard. pete dived for the rod and after a hard fought kamikazi common we weighed in at a wopping 4lb 8oz!!! i tell you, i have never been so excited to see such a fish and we were so chuffed we were off the mark! now we had caught a fish on our most rewarding tactics we recast and waited once more but the rest of the day produced nothing and 'Hughes and Shoes' popped round with the cameras for a chat and told us some wicked fishing adventures and really took carp match angling to a whole new level and was an interesting evening. we had a good nights sleep again and as the final morning dawned we recast to hope for one last fish but the rods just lay there gormless for the whole morning. never the less we had a great weekend meeting some new and famous faces and will hopefully try again next year!

Rich it wasn't easy mate with so many lines in the water at the same time, you got the most out of the water infront of you, i didnt see you at the presentation so i didnt know how you got on, but well done fella at least you got through to the final which was an acheivement in itself
