Is the title heading South now???Well done to Man City... Observed the silence... Won the game...!!!
Looks like Benjani is what they've been missing for a while now...
Maybe this has confirmed that the title is heading south this year...

Never believed that it was heading North again anyway!

It certainly is not heading to your bit of the south buddy. What a boring display of "so called high class" football that was yesterday
kind regards Jeff

A lot of that can be attributed to Liverpool Jeff.. They came with a game plan, and unfortunately for everyone who had the misfortune to watch it, it worked.
They pressured the ball 100% throughout the entire game, never giving any space, and sat back trying to hit on the counter...
It was without doubt one of the most boring games imaginable, as we simply weren't good enough to overcome their stifling tactics on the day... that IS Liverpool I'm afraid...... match spoilers!
Still, it was a better performance than United put up in looking a truly second-rate team against Citeh.
In fact, they made City look pretty damn good!

Erm, you don't think that Chelsea can possibly win the title Jeff
If you feel that a 5 (as it is now) or even an 8 point lead (at the end of today) is enough for L'arse to win the title, then you must have conceeded that United can't win it either m8... as they will probably be 5 points adrift tonight!

Is The Title Heading South Now?
Well I voted a big fat No because it's not heading South, it's heading North to NORTH LONDON
Oooooh to be a Gooner 8)

Steve Howard

Ian, you might well be singing now buddy, but the ol' fat lady isn't just yet a while me old m8!
Chelsea have ridden through the injuries and missing players still in touch... I seriously doubt both Arsenals and Uniteds ability to function without their top players...
You have to PRAY that 'Adbaday' sees the season out for you buddy
The same goes for Manure... if Shrek or the diving portugeezer go on the missing list, united are nothing more than 2nd rate
|
Mac
|
Surely Chelsea are the same Steve?
Without the spine of the team you lot dont look like contenders either Terry, Fat Frank and Drogba
I will still plump for Manure to win the league but credit to Arsenal, I fr one thought they would struggle this season after the loss of Henry but it seems he is now forgot
|
Steve Howard
|
How do you work that out Mark
Chelsea have actually caught Man U up while having 8 or 9 key players out of the team...
If Ronaldo or Rooney go missing for just ONE GAME they capitulate.
Take Adabaday out of the equation, and Arsenals teeth are pulled.
No m8, they are most definitely not the same, Chelsea have proven emphatically that they can cope without some of their best players.
But of course, where Chelsea are concerned, it doesn't matter that they have rarely had more than 5 or 6 of the first choice players on the field, or as many as NINE out of the team, they are expected to cope... and cope they do.
It seems that folk like to overlook and ignore the fact that Chelsea have played for the majority of this season (and last) without several of their KEY players and are still right in the mix fighting on ALL FOUR fronts 8)

Stevie.... have I got to go find that horsey picture again
All three teams have missed various players throughout the season. All the hype up until very recently was that Arsenal had the weakest squad of the lot and the players we had to draw from off the bench were very inexperienced as opposed to Manure's squad built by their owners millions and the squad put together by your ex Meglomaniac at the Bridge.
Well, we may not win the title (on a serious note I still do not believe we will) but we've exceeded everyone's judgements of us - you lose Fat Frank or ObiOneKinobiMikel and you bring in Ballack or Makelele, you lose Terry and bring in Alex or Carvahlio who are in the whole, proven "world class" players. Us, we bring in Walcott (just a kid not cutting it yet), Eduardo (Played in Croatian league), Senderos or Djourou (inexperienced and used to cup runs).
So, you cannot keep bleating on about poor old hard done by Che£ski losing a few players to injuries or African nations Cup, you should be way ahead of us.....
But you're not
|
Steve Howard
|
"Way ahead" Possibly Ian, your lot HAVE done exceedingly well though, mr kipperling, no denying.
Its very sad that in the defence of your club, you cannot see past the end of your nose... perhaps your nosebag gets in the way?
All I'm saying is, yes, we have good strength in depth, but my god, didn't we need to prove that - it was very much NEEDED, and if Arse or Manure had sustained anywhere near that level of missing players, there is no doubt in my mind that you wouldn't continue to win like chelsea have.
You can deny it all you want Ian, but the facts are there, our TOP players have been consistantly missing throughout the season, en masse.
Yes, we do have some quality in reserve, but please don't neglect the fact that we have had to play 3RD CHOICE players on a fairly regular basis.
Poor ol' Claude "I want to retire" Makele has had to be played in NINE consecutive games recently (1/4 of the season). For long spells, at certain times, the entire first choice midfield has been out plus their back up players, and the same with the entire defence including the keeper at others, but we have still 'managed' to stay in touch...
I can understand the fact that other teams supporters will not care, or be fully aware of the player availability situation at other clubs, thats quite obvious... But I think that Chelseas very extreme and acute problems have been fully documented. Good lord, even the anti-chelsea media have given us some credit for that Ian!
And yet, you deny that it should, or has caused us any problems? And that we should be way ahead of you?

Your top striker goes off for his holibobs at the African Nations Cup :?
Solution:

Will always be the way down at Russki Bridge Steve and you have to come out of denial really soon before it starts to turn you grey 8)
The fact that you've lost 8 or 9 players to injuries and other competitions is about the equivelant as any normal team (Hmmm, like Arsenal say) losing two or three. We've had Toure, Song & Eboue out but we've got on and made a good job of it. We've lost Rosicky, Walcott and Hleb for many matches and also Diarra deserting us could have had an effect. And let's not forget dear old "Sick Note" Van Persie. It's all pretty much the same difference except we just got on with the job with any one of our second/thrid string available and rose to the top (by 5 points if I hadn't already mentioned ) whilst others just kept bleating on about their squads being decimated by injuries and all they had to play was Shaun Wright Phillips, Steve Sidwell, Makelele, Pizarro, Anelka, Ben Haim, Beletti... tough luck eh

Steve how on earth do you work that out?
You ARE 3 points behind us on level games. Some caught up buddy
Its in Arsenals hands at the mo. But "if" they slip up, it will be United that will pounce, not Chelsea

Oh how we try to twist things Ian!
Drogba and Kalou went to Africa to play (not on holiday )
Pizzaro was injured, Sheva was injured and we were without any recognised striker.

Ian, you have mentioned EIGHT players in total there... Chelsea had that many FIRST CHOICE players missing at once... please don't suggest that you losing a couple at any one time is the same equivallent, because its not. You have to take into consideration the interaction and values between the sets of players, there is no way on earth that you can replace 9 of the 11 players in a team and function as normal, its an entirely different team altogether!

Funny how you have double standards Mark...
In one breath you say Chelsea don't look like Title contenders, despite their results, because 3 players (god, i wish it WAS only 3!!!) are missing, and in the next breath you say how you expected Arse to struggle without ONE player????
Strange... or biased!!??
