Day sessionsi didnt know where to go when i wasn't going to the cotswolds so i decided to do some days sessions on some local waters, so i could get my fix
so i turned up on a water call lyswerry, its not a big water but the carp in there are real old warriors and not huge either, but i wanted quality carp rather that quantity
Well i turned up a bit late really so i didnt really expect to even get a swim, so when i saw there was no-one at the top of the lake and the carp were sunning them selves there, well i had to get up there, nice bit of watercraft
As i was only going light it was a doddle to get my gear to my swim, the lake is a bit weedy and it looked like it was mainly silk weed, so on with the choddies and winged them out to a reed bed in the middle as this was not a deep lake, i sat down and went to have something to eat when my left hand rod roared off, well i couldnt believe it a run already, i strolled down to the rod (yeah right more like sprinted and nearly fell over in the process) and struck and was met with nice resistence as Mr Carp took off and i had to stop it as it was trying its hardest to get into the reed bed, but after a bit of persuation and a few prayers i managed to turn it into open water, soon enough it slipped over the net and i was greeted by a beautiful linear, upon hoisting it up onto the scales it read 28lb exactly, was i happy, too right i was.
I caught 2 more small commons and lost 2 as well, so i was well happy with the out come, i had forgotten how good these day sessions were and am looking forward to my next session, i will keep you posted

just come back from another day session but on another water this time, its a water called the wharf, its in a bit of a built up area so its not really a place you can relax on, but the carp in there are nice so i thought i would give it a go, i have been baiting up the water for the past week so my expectations were high, Gareth my fishing buddy was also with me on this trip and with-in a few hours had one on the bank a mid double mirror, stunning looking carp as well, as the morning went into the afternoon we had no more action, so i was starting to get itchy feet plus the weather was really hot, so we decided to call it a day soon when the right hand rod roared off, it didnt put that much of a fight until it saw the net, then it went balistic and it was at this time that i saw it was a grassie, after a few minutes it went into the net first time, for a grassie it really behaved itself that was when it lifted it up to weight it and it flipped its tail in the weight slig and slapped me in my crown jewel's, i went down like a sck of spud, tears in my eyes, anyway it weighed 22lb so was not too disappointed with the result
