autoI use my camera in auto mode, i know nothing really about photography etc but always liked the idea of getting more out of my shots, are you more likely to get better pictures using it in manual mode, providing you learn how to use it?

Think the awnser will be yes Mat ....but Im just the same as you and allways use auto mode as im unsure what all the otheres mean

Think this is a very good question Mat.
Id say you not necessary take a better photo, but using manual you can get more out of your camera.
Don’t be afraid of using manual Mat, what I tend to do is use/ leave it on Auto like yourself, then take the photo you want till you happy with it in playback.
Then take some photos in manual, in the settings you think will enhance the photo.
This way you will be learning but not losing out.
Don’t over complicate things, just tryout one thing at time.
