Chris Orme makes some very very good custom built rods. and i have really taken a liking to his 13ft floater rod.
i have had a look and a quick play around with the rod and you can really feel the power it holds right through to the butt while still retaining good casting capabilities and good fish playing.
in the words of one owner, it is very versatile and can punch a controller a long way, but is also capable of the close range work often needed.
being a custom built rod its quite expensive and he only rolls batches of over 8.
so me being the first i still need 7 people to pool together and buy the rod with me.
the price of the rod? 150 pound.
im sure i can find some more info, but post here if your interested

a picture could never do this rod any justice whatsoever.
i will try and dig one out but i'll explain.
the rings are high quality and have three legs on each and every one to stop bending of the rings.
they have a generous amount of rings along the whole 13ft blank, and its painted a lovely burgandy colour.
i will speak to an owner of such a rod now and ask him to send a picture over to me |

i need to replace my floater rod, its one of my most important peices of tackle and i would be willing to pay that much, getting hold of that money in the first place would be a bit tricky, but ill cross that bridge when i come to it, so, when do you hopefully plan on buying it, i think it would do very well on our trip to LH mate _________________ under 18? only another 2 people interested??
ben and matt, but no definate answers.
guys, this rod has to be seen to be believed.
being a custom built rod, you are paying for the care, attention and the superb playing action of these rods. really built for the job in hand.
well worth looking into, what harm can it do to have a quick browse of the website. |

Just to add my interest, after seeing and having a play around with one of these floater rods last year, I can assure you that they are a fantastic bit of kit.
Just like a little puppy-dog, once you've held one you'll just have to take one home with you!
I'm definitely going to have one, and I'll have mine built with full duplon handle, not cork... opting for duplon will knock a tenner off the price too! 8) _________________ <(>< C <(>< A <(>< R <(>< P <(>< A <(>< D <(>< D <(>< I <(>< C <(>< T <(><

We have three on another forum 100% and me makes 4
If you guys want one that makes 6, so we just need two more...
Chris, can you tell us a bit more about the rods please mate?
What TC are they?
What choice is there in rings and fittings?
What is the difference in costs?
How much is the difference in cost between Full and abbreviated, duplon or cork butts? _________________ <(>< C <(>< A <(>< R <(>< P <(>< A <(>< D <(>< D <(>< I <(>< C <(>< T <(><

Cheers Chris....
I'll go for full duplon myself, i just can't abide cork... although to be fair, I must say the quality of the cork used on your floater rod that I had a play with was top grade stuff, even I forgot that it was cork it was that good.
What options are there for the rings Chris, could you explain a little please mate? _________________ <(>< C <(>< A <(>< R <(>< P <(>< A <(>< D <(>< D <(>< I <(>< C <(>< T <(><

If you're genuinely interested guys, can you submit your spec here so that we know who is up for it, and then we can send our cheques and place the order with Chris.
Thanks. _________________ <(>< C <(>< A <(>< R <(>< P <(>< A <(>< D <(>< D <(>< I <(>< C <(>< T <(><
