Well I thought a would share a recent 36hr session with you just to see how  it goes as this might be the first of many……………

So let’s start the other Friday I  went to fish the might Trent just out side Nottingham I rolled a few kilo’s of 18mm Freshwater Shrimp for the trip and away I went, got to the section after work not looking in the club  book until I got there I found to my disappointment that on the Saturday there was a !!@@&!!  Match great where now after phoning my mate up to tell him not to bother driving from Derby we decide to spend the session on a council water back it Derby. After the drive back  I arrived at the lake to find one other carper on the lake great I thought its either fishing terrible or I am lucky only time will tell after finding the right spots around 50yards hookbaits out and around 30 baits over each rod I settled down for the night chillin with a cig and a coffee or two my mates alarm sounded a single tonner around midnight  after a short battle he landed  a 12lbs  scaley mirror which look very sorry for it self and a bit tatty an old warrior indeed . A recast and bait up was done  and back to bed after another  smoke I started to drift off to sleep until my alarm signalled an single tonner around 3am after a 10mins I landed the fish  my mate was just about to lift the net onto the mat when he was in again I left the fish safely in the net and help him land another old looking carp a quick photo and the  weight  was 16lbs.
Back to mine photos were done first like most occasions (I think this is less stressful for the fish but that’s another story). Once the pics were done after the fish giving me a good beating on the bank we weight she went 23lbs 14oz on the scales which is my biggest from there.

By the time I had re cast it was just starting to get light so we just sat there with another coffee or three nothing happened for the rest of the until around 5pm when my mates was in again this time to a small mirror.

At around 8pm the fish started to crash on the far margin with each carp toppin they were getting closer and closer to the baited area until my alarm burst in to life on the scales the slate grey mirror went 13lbs 8 oz

just as the light faded away I was in again this time a common around 16lbs this was my first common from there since fishing the lake on and off for the last  three years.

I am off to France soon for two weeks holiday with my wife and kids its  a log cabin and carp lake  I will be fishing night manly so hopefully I will have a good report and some pics at the end of August.

Tight lines to you all

Richo..
