Well I suppose its time I started a catch report in here

Today me and Chaddy decide it's time for a session at our local club lake. Arrive at the lake around 6.30am and find 2 guys already there. We decide to fish one end of the lake that gives us a fair bit of water to go at without others interfering. 1 rod on the Carphunter sweet corn boilie and 1 on the homemade 66.
Nothing as much as a bleep to show for about 4 hrs, by this time there's one or 2 carp cruising so out go a few doggies. The odd one gets slurped up but nothing serious. Another hour later and I'm still flicking the doggies out and decide to chuck the controller out to a few cruising fish. Got the odd inspection from Mr and Mrs Carp but they just didn't seem interested in feeding Chads better half turns up with my errrrrrr I mean his daughter Megan and we have a little picnic Megan then decides she wants to give me a feather she had found (Thats more than I've ever had out of her dad!) I turn round to take it off her and my floter rod in my hands is tugged out of my grasp. With the reactions of a cat I rescue the rod before its dragged into the lake. A nice fight follows with the fish leading me a merry dance around my swim.
Chad does the honours of netting and looks into the net, "Mac it's a 20" he says. For those of you who don't know me and Chad have never caught an English 20, plenty of French ones(In France ) so my heartbeat goes up a notch or two. The scales are zeroed and in the sling she goes and the needle goes round to 19lb 15oz
The scales are zeroed again and again but they won't go past the 20lm mark. (Chad did suggest sticking a few boilies down it's throat LOL )

Anyway a new English PB so I can't complain

An hour later and I'm in again but this time to one of my 66, a scraper double who put up a fight deservedly of a fish twice its size. Another 1/2 hr or so and I'm in again, to the 66 yet again The culprit was this critter coming in at 16lb 2oz

A couple of yeards ago I applied for a syndicate place on a small lake not too far from me. A couple of weeks ago my mate who is in it phoned to ask if I was interested in fishing a match on the said lake, the idea being to target small carp, any caught would be removed. Also it would give me chance to meet the owner and try and impress etc etc so I accepted the offer. The arrangement was draw at 7.30am for an 8.30am start. I also agreed with a couple of mates to go for a beer last night but I wasn't going to stay out too late, got home at 2am the worse for wear :? Woke up at 8am and couldn't believe it, so I rang my mate to say was it ok if I still came. No problem was the reply so I chucked the gear in the car and arrived at the lake around 8.45ish, they'd drawn me a swim...no.13 and so I set up. Only carp under 10lb would count in the match, at that time nobody had caught, I cast both rods and within 20 minutes I'm in resulting a lovely looking common but no good for the match as it was 17lb 7oz, I was well happy anyway. Another hour and I'm in again, this time a small common around 4lb, sack it up and recast. 2o minutes before the end of the match I'm in again, resulting in another small common around 5lb. I haven't got another sack so reeled the rods in and left it in my landing net. Have a walk round and find out only 2 other carp caught to the same angler so its going to be close cripes! He weighs in with 7lb 4oz and I weigh in with 9lb 2oz and pocket a few quid LOL

PLUS..............I'm in the syndi from Aug 1st, what a great day

Got the green light to join my new lake so without an further delay went down yesterday and did a 24 hr session. The rods had been in 15 minutes and my left hander is off  5 mins later and it's lost to a hook pull.  Recast and nothing for a couple of hours although loads fish coming in/out of the swim, the middle rod bursts into life and I'm off the mark, in the shape of a common about 2lb :?   , recast and put a few spods over pellet back out and settle down to a brew, just as the kettle is boiling I'm in again, on the middle rod, this time resulting in a common around 10lb. 8)  The next 4 hrs went through similar stuff with another 4 fish all around the 10lb mark. Around 10pm (ish) I turn in for some much needed beauty sleep (Shut it, the lot of ya ) only in the bag about 20 mins and my left hander is off again This time a bigger common is the culprit coming in at 14lb 7oz. Back in the pit and about an hour later I'm out again to the same rod, another common coming in at 15lb 3oz. Recast and apporx 40 minutes later I'm out again  this time on the middle rod which was cast out to some lilies, it had soon buried itself and I couldn't shift it so put the rod on the rest for 15 mins then had another go but still no luck, ended up pulling for a break
Have a brew and then back to bed, not too long and I'm out again but this time to the dormant right hand rod cast about 6ft to my right near an overhanging tree.

When I opened the mesh on the mat I immediately thought "flippin heck" its a 20, on the scales it went round to 0lb
cuckoo!

replace the rod and back in the sack, 6.15 ish and I'm rudely awoken to the same rod again, out the bag like a striking cobra   The mystery fish surges out into the lake and leads me a merry dance around a couple of dot islands and through my middle rod but after around 15 minutes it kisses the spreader block could this be the magic 20   8)

I couldn't even lift it out of the water  then realised the net was caught on a tree stump cuckoo!   Onto the mat and it's a monster  Weighed 3 times and comes in at 24lb 4oz

My very 1st English 20  dance

sorry about the pic but I'm still getting to grips with the self takes

Had a 3 more fish around the 13/14lb mark and packed up at 10am. All in all not a bad session
