I hear what you're saying Paul, but to be homest, what IS a 'normal' position m8?

In this day and age of extremely specialised players, do we choose a system first, and fit quality, but less-versitile players into it, or pick a bunch of quality players and work out a system to accomodate them bud?

The system should be one that fits the players so they can play at there best, so you could pick your best 11 english players and if your a good enough coach you should work out a system that allows these players to play at there best.

normal position is one that the player plays in week in week out , you know that anyway , picking 11 of the best players and playing some of them out of position just because there the best players , ain't working .
i would rather see a few less stars playing in there normal positions if thats what it takes m8 , just try and build a team from scratch the old way . i cant really see it going any worse m8 , i just cant keep watching them play like they are , heck there forcing me to support scotland  cripes!  LOL

I agree with what your saying about ben foster fullylove, would definitely pick him over any of the others on offer.

dont know why he cant just get his break that he fully deserves, okay maybe not for united as they have someone more than capable already, but for england he should

Ah yes, but that demands that each piece of the jigsaw fits together precisely in order for it to function as a unit... and you can bet your last penny that the '11 best players' wouldn't fit...  This is our main problem to my mind, we have the talent, but not the right  'blend'

Okay, what about the manager, who would you pick?

Harry Redknap for me

Blummin eck, we agree again Paul  cripes! , Sir Bob was da man, and the way he was treated by the media was nothing short of scandalous.

yup your right ben foster does deserve a chance after what he did with watford and as for a manger it needs to be some1 with a footballing brian like wenger because there is no excuse why england cant chellenge for the world cup and the euros we have enough world class players playing in the best league in the world to we just need some1 who isnt influenced by anyone and is a tactical sort of manager.

Strange selection for you Steve ,being as Harry was extolling the virtues of Steven Gerrard in today's sun, describing him as being constantly played out of position and one of our TRUE WORLD CLASS players.

Played in the right position I totally agree with him and as Harry intermated, there is no better player who can turn a game or gives more to his country.

kind regards Jeff
