E C H O Article Competition Spring 2008!
* Prizes To Be Announced Shortly *
ECHO in conjunction with the Carp Addict Forum are offering a fantastic opportunity for any budding author to submit an article to be included within issue 12 of the Echoes Magazine.
What is it that makes our sport unique, what is it that inspires us to fish? These are the questions that have inspired angling writers world wide to put their passion in words! What have you to say about your passion for angling!
I and Duncan Charman have been given the task of revamping the magazine's content, as up till now it wouldn't be unfair to say the 'magazine' hasn't been able to develop into anything other than a membership newsletter and your inclusion would be greatly received as always!
This is truly the dawning of a new age for carpers and anglers in the UK and ECHO has to be fully in line with the changes that are taking place within our sport, not just helping to drive those issues politically, but just as importantly what carpers feel are the issues that will achieve benefits for them on a local basis.
The criteria for entry are fairly simple;
* Your article must contain no more than 1500 words.
* Your article should under no circumstances undermine the ethic of the ECHO organisation. Please view the ECHO website if you are in any doubt as to the nature of this principle, which can be accessed by left clicking on the ECHO banner above.
* Your article should be exactly that, your article. Please do not present an article on somebody else's behalf.
* That your entry article should be received by me (contact details below) no later than Wednesday the 23rd of April.
* In addition it would be in best keeping if you were prepared to supply quality images to furnish your entry, if it were chosen as the winning one, approximately 1 picture per 500 words is a rule of thumb.
For anyone needing further information regarding this competition I encourage you to post any questions within this thread. If you wish to PM me for private consultations do not hesitate to do so.
For anyone wishing to submit an article for this fantastic competition, please send your article to me, either via the PM function, or to my E-Mail address; richardcrimp@hotmail.co.uk - no later than the date given above.
I would like to take this early opportunity to thank you for your entry submissions in advance. It also goes without saying that I would also like to thank Carp Addict for their continued support of ECHO.
Thank you and the best of luck!
Richard

Anyone fancy a go at this?
You don't have to be a writing superstar (like me ) just put an article down in your own words and you never know _________________ under 18? Get in THE ZONE

Well in chaps!
I promise you the new magazine will be in a different league to the old news letter style format and I along with Duncan Charman have been working very hard (as well as plenty of other people), to ensure that the next issue begins a development of the publication that is long overdue.
Already we have received considerable support from a number of members and for those of you that have received the 'news letter' in the past... there are definitely a few surprises in the offing!
With your support this magazine should become quite inspirational!
Send me those entries with the passion of angling dripping from every line! 8)

I'm on holiday as from Sunday ladies and gentlemen and I'll apologise in advance for my lack of response if any one should send me an article.
For those of you that have sent me an article already, thank you!

Back from my short break and Prague isn't a bad place if you like a bit of European culture!
Get scribbling people! This is an excellent opportunity for you to get your thoughts published in a magazine.
It doesn't have to be about ECHO 'the organisation' and what that means for our sport, rather it may be best to concentrate on your own reasons for angling, or session based articles etc. Some light reading for the membership within the magazine to off-set some of the more serious stuff.
Quills at the ready... and start writing!

As yet we have just a few submissions for the competition and by way of a reminder I shall now begin to torture you with a little 'off-the-cuff' carping poetry until I receive the next entry!
Falling grace envelopes trust as 'luck' is cast in droves
And in amongst the flying lines a rodman drops a stone.
The ripples ring, while nature sings and soon the circles grow
And all the while the stone it sinks to find a happy home.
