I was just 'fishing' Stix... not had a bite yet though!  LOL  LOL

All quiet, innit?... must mean manure had a bad result.  Mwraahaha  LOL  LOL

Well, if that's what happens to them when Ron-winkingcheatingslimeygrinningdivinggit-aldo is out, then you fear for them, you really do. cripes!  LOL

Thing is, they have a pretty weak squad, with several of their players being sub-standard.

Van der Sar - When a team of manures stature have to rely upon a guy like this, it shows how their standards have plummeted.

Brown - Would you 'really' put this player in your 'top four' team?  I certainly wouldn't!

Vidic - okay, a half decent player, no more than 'acceptable'

Ferdinand - sometimes good, sometimes a liability, 'acceptable' not outstanding.

Evra -  Fiery, pacey, but is he world class? Not imo.

Fletcher - Who? No way Hose, Alex is just taking a punt on him, but he's not gonna be there much longer, surely?

Carrick - Never done anything outstanding, not for me.

O'Shea - 'Rick' is another who just falls short of being a 'top four' player.

Scholes - Over the hill (and very far away! )

Giggs  - Giggs m8, please stop now - you were great, but you just can't cut it anymore!

Campbell - Perhaps the 'best forward manure have - sez it all really!

Rafael Da Silva - Potential? Maybe, but a top four team needs players who CAN, not those who 'might'

Rooney - Flashes of brilliance, but increasingly long periods of mundane

'Subs' - Possebon, Kuszczak, Neville, Evans, Gibson.  -
Wow, strikes fear in yer heart, eh! cripes!  LOL  LOL  LOL  LOL

9 of those you mentioned above Steve won us the league and the European cup last year.

Your team won nothing!

We have yet to spend a penny, whereas your lot have spent fortunes yet again and changed yet another manager.

You have one good game against a very very substandard team and your world beaters.     and James was directly at fault for 2 of the "gifted" 3 goals.

Never mind buddy, its a long haul to the winning post and thats if your lot can remember where it is Teehehe  Teehehe  Teehehe

kind regards Jeff

Pompey not a hard test? - Yeah, rite!

They finished 8th last term, beat Manure (away) on the way to lifting the FA cup... were narrowly beaten by manure in a pre-season friendly 2-1, and lost the charity shield on pens to Manure...

I'd say that they are a pretty good side who we made to look poor, not as you suggest.

"spent"... yeah, possibly, but some might see through the BS, and see it differently than how the press want to present it for YOU to believe

I think the quoted figure includes a Multi-million £ Cobham training centre, and doesn't take into account money from players sold

We spent very little, much less than our rivals, last season, and have spent only a comparitive figure to other clubs at the top again this season.

Jealousy is a terrible thing!

scotcarp wrote:

Er, not strictly true... I think that there has been a good deal of money brought into the club for their success over the past few seasons

JAFFA wrote:

Yes, 9, and none who will win anything this year.
"won nothing" no, maybe not, but being a manc you will only see your teams 'success' as in lifting trophies, not the tiny margin by which it was attained.

JAFFA wrote:

Don't give me that old clap-trap m8... aren't they signing Berbatov for around 30 million??

Anyway, you spent plenty last year when we spent very little!

JAFFA wrote:

Is this the "very very substandard team" who knocked you lot out of the FA cup (and won it), has beaten you 4 times in the past 5 seasons and who lost the charity sheild only on pens to you only a week ago?

Let's hope for your sake that your lot can remember... it might be a long time 'til they find themselves back in the position again

not jelous ,just quoted the tv steve ,
manure do look quite ordinary in the two games ive seen , your chelski look better, but its one game , and if manure do steal berby from us , i think you and everyone else will struggle to beat manure , berby would make them very very good imo .as much as that hurts me to say it

No, not for 99% of football fans or players it isn't... a 'season' is about enjoying the pleasure the game can bring, the high and lows, the rollercoaster that is football.
If football is 'only about the trophies' and 'success' cannot be measured by any other criteria, then football is doomed... only 1% of teams can win each season, and they are 'normally' shared between just a few clubs.

Manure fans think they have sole, god-given rights to win them, that's the real shame of it... and my point

So do most of us Paul... that's the point mate... if we only followed our teams purely for bragging rights when they won a trophy, what would that say about us?

I have supported the blues for 44 years mate, they have history, and plenty of it, but unlike 'some' teams, they are now creating history, not living off it!  Mwraahaha

I am going to bow out now, because there is lots of slant on this posting.

I seem to remember 26 years in the wilderness, I remember the old second division and I cannot seriously remember spending 585 million in a lifetime of one owner, let alone a few years of ONE!!!!!. I also remember going through a succession of managers to arrive at the holy grail, incidentally the most successful top flight manager on the planet, the longest serving premisership manager.

Never mind, your right Steve, its only a game and it lasts all season long. Lets just see how it pans out.

Oh and despite savage rumours......Ronaldo is STILL a united player.     The ONLY players to go from old trafford, are the ones that Sir "we are not worthy" Ferguson WANTS to go

kind regards Jeff

Yes, so can I, and you only clawed your way back due to lots and lots of money (yes, that dirty word) being spent... Just like every other 'successful' team.

JAFFA wrote:

That old chesnut, AGAIN  The money you have spent to get to where you are is far in excess of that, and the 'value' of money spent is directly relative to the time it was spent.

What you paid for Ferdinand (28 million, was it?) quite a few years ago now, is probably in line with 40 million now.
You have spent, and spent big to try to dominate football with your financial clout, so don't come crying when somebody can more than match you  Mwraahaha

JAFFA wrote:

Oh how droll... don't you think that the MONEY you have spent in the past 20 years has helped secure his job?

See, you can talk sense if you try really hard mate!  LOL

'Rumours'???

As I read it, it was far from being rumour mate, he wanted out but was persueded to stay.

"we are not worthy"  LOL  LOL  LOL  LOL  what!!!!???

An 'average' manger could easily emulate him given the money and backing he got over the years... mind you, I seem to recall that most united fans wanted his head paraded on a long pole after his first season at the club... funny how your opinions changed so drastically once he'd spent a bit of money to improve matters... yes, money, even your 'holy one' couldn't do a thing without it... thats where the success comes from, not Alex the gum-chewer  cuckoo!

All good clean fun, just trying to put a few media-fuelled myths to bed... the ones that continually snipe at chelsea and 'overlook' any similar 'indiscretions' by their own/former clubs.

Just think, in less than 10-years, the pundits comentating on the matches we watch on TV could well be ex-chelsea players... JT, Lamps, et al... it will be refreshing to hear their 'unbiased' opinions on united, arsenal and pool, if only to create some balance... can't wait!!!  Mwraahaha

Chelski 'new rich kids on the block' expect everything in a matter of a couple of years... you get rid of the chosen one and appoint a donkey... defended by the great Steve, fountain of all knowledge and seer of great things.... duly sacked... you now have a good manager... lets see... this will be an interesting season once the greatest team in the UK (MUFC) get the wounded back.... LOL  LOL  LOL  LOL
